In June, the provincial government building will host an exhibition about Utrecht’s queer history. The reason for this is the book ‘Utrechtenaren, een queer geschiedenis’ by authors Maurice van Lieshout, Marijke Huisman and Evert van der Veen. Dive into the lives of 'Utrechtenaren': ‘sodomites’, ‘resilient women’ and transgender activists. Discover how people live who do not fit into the sexual and gender norms of their time. Learn about the persecution and struggle for equal rights over the past three centuries. The exhibition can be seen from 5 to 27 June during the opening hours of the provincial government building (Archimedeslaan 6, first floor): Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 17:00. Admission is free.
