Pim Lammers, internationally acclaimed children's book writer
Pim Lammers is one of the leading innovators in Dutch children's books. He demonstrates that love and identity come in many forms. Laura Meijer created a remarkable portrait of him.
Pim has suffered greatly from unjustified accusations and hate campaigns and was forced to withdraw as the author of the Children's Book Week poem. That hasn't stopped him from continuing:
I think literature, and especially children's literature, can foster greater empathy. People need to see how things can be done differently. Always being yourself, no matter what other people say or think. That's what I try to convey in my work.
