Studium Generale of the UU and Tivoli-Vredenburg are organising a science café on 5 February on HIV and AIDS with social psychologist Prof John de Wit (UU), virologist Anne Wensing (UMC Utrecht) and podcast creator Randy Vermeulen (And no one remained untouched).
The AIDS epidemic of the 1980s and 1990s took the lives of many gay men. An infection is no longer a death sentence now, but the stigma from those days still exists. How do we break it? Why is the number of young people diagnosed with HIV increasing again? And what traces did the AIDS crisis leave in the queer community?
